September 4th and 5th: Copenhagen discovery tour

We set out, by bike of course, to explore the city - Copenhagen bike lanes everywhere of course - a row of parked cars between the traffic and the bike lane.

Christianborg Palace - nice real estate for an occasional summer retreat!

We chanced upon the Danish version of "the changing of the guard" - no security scare this time, our bikes were not confiscated.

Who needs a car when you can peddle your own boot!

Copenhagen is reminiscent of Amsterdam with its canals and converted warehouses.

By the dock at Nyhavn, Copenhagen - time for coffee, beer and people watching.

Saint Saviours Church built 1695 - has a 400 step climb to the top of its famous corkscrew spire - the last part of the ascent is via an external winding staircase around the gilded baroque architecture.

We climbed the 400 steps to the top of a church spire for this view.

Just another day in Copenhagen - who said he wasn't domesticated?
